Aberdeen international Youth Festival

On the recommendation of SPF, 2 extremely talented young men from St Petersburg, Pavlov Oboyansev and Mikhail Pavlov were invited to perform at the Aberdeen International Youth Festival. Both young men are former winners of the Knowledge of Scotland Competition.

Pavel (Pasha) is an Economics Graduate of St Petersburg State University and world a Champion Accordionist.

Mikail (Misha) is studying opera at the St Petersburg Conservatoire and has performed throughout Russia, in Barcelona and Paris.

Together with Ewan Doonhamer from Dumfries, the Supreme Young Burnsian 2008, an accomplished pianist and Sax player, the trio performed in An Evening of International Music and Song. The event was organised by the Robert Burns World Federation in celebration of Homecoming 2009.

Following an outstanding performance by all three, Mikhail was approached by the RSAMD invited to audition, and offered a 2-year scholarship.
